Power & Imagination: for Kids!

A 30-minute interactive, virtual workshop for mini-Champions (ages 5–12) that builds confidence, sparks creativity, and encourages POWER-filled self-expression through imaginative play. This workshop is designed to leave your child with an empowered understanding of themselves and their unique expression. It is an activation.

Reading with Power: a Summer Series (Grades 4-6)

Reading with Power: a Summer Series invites students in grades 4–6 to read, think, imagine, and grow together.

Over 6 weeks, your child will explore Matilda and Encore, Grace! through guided reading, vocabulary, discussion, creative exercises, and take-home work.

Students will learn how to enter each book as a new world, collect “keys” from each exploration, and use those keys to strengthen comprehension, confidence, curiosity, and imagination.

Series Length: 6 weeks
Session Duration: 75 minutes

The Summer Series will begin the week of July 6 and is hosted virtually on The Champion Stage.

IMPORTANT: Tracks must meet minimum enrollment to run. If a selected track does not meet the minimum, families may transfer to an available track or receive a refund/credit.

Books are not included with registration. Participants are encouraged to borrow copies of the required texts from local libraries or purchase before sessions begin. A book list and purchase links will be provided after registration.

Reading with Power: Black Women Writer Studies

Reading with Power: Black Women Writer Studies is an 8-week guided literary study for teen girls and women ready to read deeply, think critically, and explore the work of Black women writers through voice, identity, imagination, and power.

Together, we will begin with Toni Morrison’s “Cinderella’s Stepsisters” and Zora Neale Hurston’s “Drenched in Light,” then move into Their Eyes Were Watching God.

This is not a book club. It is a guided reading experience with select texts, thoughtful discussion, reflection prompts, and take-home reflections designed to help participants explore each text with care, curiosity, and personal connection.

  • Girls Study Track meets Wednesday evenings for 8 weeks.
