Heart Pour IV: Nail Tech Prophesies

“You know what Power needs…she needs her heart broken.”

Shout out to one of my favorite nail techs, Courtney (a Black girl, a Black, yes she’s a Black girl!). Last year, around this time, she expressed that to me. How healing through a heartbreak was something that Black women and girls needed to learn.

I was not a fan of the idea, because personally I didn't want to endure another heartbreak experience. It upends your entire world. Especially when you show up to the connection fully, with real love, loyalty, and honest intentions.

Your vision recalibrates.
Your heart echoes a new beat.
Your mind traces memory for understanding.
Your soul seeks safety in solitude and sisterhood.

I’m writing in this new wave of being, expressing through my gifts the ache of my heart. We don’t speak often of the accompaniments of heartache.

The replays of red flags.
The B-roll of soft moments.
The love. The love. The love.

Because what I brought (what we bring) to these connections is (and will forever be) REAL LOVE.

How do we heal into our evolution? How do we move forward after the smoke fades?

Grace. Expression
Faith. Expression
Love. Expression

We move forward with expression.
