This Black History Month, we launched our inaugural #BGCPowerSurge an ongoing, community-sponsored effort to send Power (dolls) into our communities.
Our current circuit includes seven portal cities: Philly, NOLA, Memphis, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, and St. Louis. Our ultimate goal? To place Power into the hands of at least one million Black Girl Champions.
In the first wave of our #BGCPowerSurge, community members and friends (like you!) sent 141 Power dolls to Black girls across the country.
I am proud of this first wave.

Our movement doesn’t stop with the POWER doll.
The POWER doll is most impactful when paired with the Power & Imagination Workshop.
This interactive experience is designed to unlock confidence, creativity, and audacity through guided imaginative and written exercises. This grants women and girls a safe place to explore their ideas, express themselves, and learn ways to collaborate to build a brilliant world.
This workshop is offered both virtually and in-person.
Sisterhood in action = more safe spaces. Another one is coming!
My vision for Black Girl Champion has always included shared moments of sisterhood — working together, helping one another, and building in the energy of sisterhood. Beginning next week, we’ll be hosting 1-hour, virtual “In The Lab” sessions!

Speaking of superpower…
On another note, I’m taking the mic. Public speaking has always been a gift of mine; I’m highkey naturally great at it! And over the last few years, I’ve sharpened my skill (your girl is an award-winning speaker). I’ve prepared two core messages for the stage: Sisterhood is Our Superpower and Power & Imagination.
